Congratulations! Palisades clinched their first out-right Colonial League title with a win over Saucon Valley. Palmerton secured a win over Northern Lehigh and Southern Lehigh topped Salisbury. Notre Dame defeated Wilson and is firing on all cylinders as they head to the post-season.
A late pick-six by one of the league's top-receivers gave Catasauqua a stunning win over Northwestern and Bangor came-from-behind to beat Pen Argyl at home for the first time in 20-years. The Final regular season weekend is upon us and the headline game could possibly cap off a superb season by Palisades (9-0). The Pirates, having earned at least a share of the league title, hosts Saucon Valley (6-3), a team they have not beaten in the last seven years.
Southern Lehigh (8-1) has a chance to nab a share of the league title as they face Salisbury (4-5). Palmerton (6-3) has earned the top-seed in the D-11 2A tournament and they host Northern Lehigh (0-9). Northwestern (4-5) looks to complete a turnaround to their season that got off to a rough start. They play Catasauqua (2-7), who started strong but has waned down the stretch. Notre Dame (7-2) started with just one-win in its first three games and turned it on in recent weeks. They face a Wilson (4-5) team that lost their last three games. In the most celebrated rivalry, Pen Argyl (1-9) takes a short trip to Bangor (3-6) battle for the 98th time. With no Saturday games, this year's season will wrap up Friday night and the select few teams remaining will have that opportunity to play for something more. Seven of the leagues 12 teams scored 35-or more points as offenses create sleepless nights for Defensive Coordinators.
Click read more to see the story. Offenses were rolling in Week 9 and that spelled bad news for defensive coordinators. Of the eight teams, five scored 35-or more points. Three of the four games totaled over 90-points making it one of the highest scoring nights in the history of the league.
The big-game of the night saw an offensive display where Notre Dame outpointed Saucon Valley in a 93-point outing. Palmerton clinched a District XI 2A berth in a game with Salisbury that tallied 98-points. Southern Lehigh pulled away with a big win over Catty in a 91-point contest. In a more traditional score, Northwestern topped Northern Lehigh in Bo-and-Brett's Mountain Road Rumble. Friday Night also saw six as the magic number. Tekoah Guedes threw for three scores and ran for three scores. Luke Struass ran for four scores and caught two TD passes. Five was pretty good too. Notre Dame's Cole DeFranco and Saucon's Alstan Wolfe each ran for three and threw for two scores. Week Nine brings a lot of stories and news coverage regarding this week's games. The game of the week pits Notre Dame GP (6-2) traveling to Hellertown to face Saucon Valley (6-2). Northern Lehigh (0-8) hosts Northwestern (3-5) in a heated rivalry that has also come to be known as Bo and Brett's Mountain Road Rumble.
In other Friday night action, the action turns to an intriguing game with Palmerton (5-3) visiting Salisbury (4-4). Finally, Southern Lehigh (7-1) making a trip to Catasauqua (2-6) On Saturday, league leader Palisades (8-0) takes on Pen Argyl (1-7) and Bangor (2-6) plays Wilson (4-4) in a series that is tied for the most-played rivalry (98th meeting) in a series that is the oldest, beginning in 1920. Palmerton pulled away for the win and Southern Lehigh held on, fighting off an inspired Northwestern squad. Salisbury evened their record a 4-4 with a solid win over Northern Lehigh.

Palisades jumpled all over Palmerton to solidify their status as the best team in the Colonial League and maybe the 3A District field. Saucon Valley, Notre Dame, and Southern Lehigh notched wide-margin wins, and Northwestern slipped by for their third win of the year.
