With Hurricane Sandy by us and the clean up ongoing, two games this weekend have been moved from Friday Night. Southern Lehigh @ Salisbury and Palisades @ Saucon Valley will join the 93rd meeting between Bangor and Pen Argyl Saturday afternoon.

The week will most definitely be altered by "Frankenstorm" which may or may not have an impact on Friday and Saturday's games.
Three Colonial League teams have qualified for the District XI playoffs with three more teams fate hanging in the balance. To see the standings and read the stories about the playoffs --- "read more" Catty wins first CL Title since '96 Catasauqua continues its roll through the league, this time though, they were able to hoist the league championship trophy at the end as they returned the Rough Riders to the top of the league they once dominated. Congratulations to Coach Falzone, staff, players, and Catty community on their success in 2012.
Southern Lehigh erases a 17-6 deficit in the fourth quarter to down Palisades. The league's leading rusher Phil Vass goes down early, but Michael Clarke steps up big Bangor. Racciato, and the Green Knights roll past Palmerton and Notre Dame downs Salisbury. Saturday's contest saw Wilson come back from 34-6 half-time deficit to drop Saucon Valley. "Read More" to see the details. Key battles in week 9 include a visit to Catasauqua (8-0) by the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs (6-2). The surprise team of the league, Palisades (6-2), will travel to Southern Lehigh (5-3) with post-season ramifications in both 2A and 3A.
Other Friday night battles include Northwestern (3-5) visting Bangor (6-2), Pen Argyl (6-2) visiting Palmerton (0-8), and Salisbury (1-9) travelling to Notre Dame G.P. (2-6). On Saturday, Saucon Valley (3-5) try to keep their post-season hopes alive with a Saturday afternoon meeting with the Wilson Warriors (2-6). We're coming down the home stretch with eight games down and just two-to-go. Although Catty is poised to claim the league title, the post-season chase in both 3A and 2A District competition heats up.

Northern Lehigh tops Bangor, Palisades beats Notre Dame-Green Pond, and Southern Lehigh downs Saucon in key post-season battles.
Winless Palmerton returns the opening kick for a TD only to have it called back and held a 7-0 lead in the second quarter to put a scare into Catty. The Roughies roll in the second half behind Eric Matz Wilson flies over Salisbury with a 383-yard passing by Ryan Dailey performance and a 252-yard receiving effort by Zack Bogoly. Mikey Racciato scores three times in Pen Argyl's 35-7 win over Northwestern in the Saturday game. A huge week with league and post-season implications kicks off Friday night with the biggest game being Bangor (D11 3A leader, 7-1) travelling to Slatington to take on Northern Lehigh (2A, 5-2).
Southern Lehigh (4-3) travels to Saucon Valley (3-4) as both fight for a spot in the 3A field. Resurgent Palisades (5-2) fights for 2A spot against the tough Notre Dame Crusaders (2-5) Other games include league leader Catasauqua (7-0) visiting Palmerton (0-7), Wilson (1-6) visiting Salisbury (1-6), and the Saturday matchup up on the hill between Northwestern (3-4) and Pen Argyl (5-2). As week 8 approaches, we get a chance to meet a Pirate who likes to get his kicks and a bunch of players who are closing in on some records and other marks. We also see that team stats are fun to look at, but no more fun than Catty's stats; those are all in the Roughies favor.
