It's a good starter for conversation as the seaon begins in three days! http://blogs.mcall.com/varsity/2011/08/colonial-league-top-10-players-entering-2011.html Tom Housenick points out that Pen Argyl was left off of a statewide poll.
http://www.mcall.com/sports/varsity/mc-highschool-football-blog-0829-20110829,0,3222630.story Call me old-school. Call me an idiot. I do not put a whole lot of stock in statewide polls. Someone from outside your area is going to rank a team without seeing them is just a bit of a stretch for me. I look at polls in this manner: It's nice that someone recognizes what the kids have done and represent. Let the kids play and notice their accomplishments. If the Green Knight faithfull feels disrespected, then go out an root that much harder for the boys when they play. If PFN doesn't recognize them now, they will have no choice later with a string of wins. The Express-Times gives Pen Argyl a #5 ranking in their coverage area. Bruce Buratti ranks the Colonial League here with Pen Argyl on top.

I also presented Keith a copy and commented on his blog after looking through it. Here is Groller's Blog. http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/2011/08/the-history-of-colonial-league-football-in-the-lehigh-valley-is-worth-a-look.html or http://goo.gl/4CQGQ The Morning Call Football preview is out and here is the online version.

Great one-click stop to all Colo I missed this from a few days ago. The Express-Times points its camera's at Saucon Valley
http://goo.gl/THwCO Express-Times Michael Lore gives due recognition to Pen Argyl seniors Dylan Evans and Kirby Mutton. Evan has accumulated 2,335 yards rushing and 48 total touchdowns. While he'll need an extraordinary year to surpass Woody Petchel's totals in both categories, he will surely improve on those totals with the blocking of the Mutton and his teamates.
