Bangor invited as a part of a new MVC/LVC
Super Conference plan
The winds of change are still blowing. The 4A schools of the Lehigh Valley are invited to join the schools of the Mountain Valley Conference to form a 4A Super-Conference. This includes Phillipsburg, an old East-Penn Conference member.
The largest Colonial League School, Bangor, already plays 4A in boys and girls basketball, was also invited in a bold move to create a Super-Conference that would benefit District and State play as well as enhance the area's stature.
The MVC currently includes six schools, Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg South, East Stroudsburg North, Pocono Mountain East, Pocono Mountain West, and Pleasant Valley.
The conference was born from the two-divisional idea that had the Mountain Schools, including the six new schools and Lehighton, and several schools from the Lehigh Valley area, including such schools as Nazareth, Parkland, Northampton, Easton, Freedom, and Liberty.
